Outreach International is a small company with a dedicated team of staff based both
in the UK and overseas.
UK Team
James Chapman: Director
James is the founder of Outreach International. He studied anthropology at the University of East
Anglia before taking an MSc in Environmental Biology. Following anthropological work overseas, he ran
his own environmental consultancy and spent five years as head of a county council field study centre.
He became a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in 1992 and established Outreach International
in Mexico in 1998.
Emily Chapman: Company Secretary
Emily is James's wife. Before becoming a primary school teacher she spent a year in the saddle,
bicycling the length of South America.
She is also one of the few women to have bicycled alone across China to the base camp of Everest.
Charlotte Felton: Administrator
Charlotte was a volunteer working on the Street Children Project in Ecuador in 2006 and on the
Children's Day Care Centre project in Costa Rica in 2008.
Having graduated from Bristol University with a Geography degree she now works in the office in
Somerset.
Dick Corbett-Winder: Marketing
Dick was a mature volunteer on our street children project in Ecuador in 2006. He has since visited
a range of our other projects, most recently in Cambodia.
He represents us at gap year fairs and career fairs.
Arabella Browne: Accountant
Arabella is a mother of three and looks after our finances.
Overseas Staff
Monika Montes: Ecuador Co-ordinator
Monika lives in Quito with her two children. She speaks fluent English and is a qualified Spanish
tutor.
She is superbly connected throughout Ecuador and has worked for Outreach International since
2003.
Greta Ruiz: Mexico Co-ordinator
Greta is a Pilates teacher and also studied for an MSc in veterinary science in London. She now
lives close to the project base in Puerto Vallarta and has been working for Outreach International
since 2004.
Javier Cano: Costa Rica Co-ordinator
Javier is a Costa Rican who has worked for Outreach International since 2006.
He is a qualified outdoor pursuits instructor and has just sailed from Costa Rica around the
Galapagos Islands.
Lokunge Priyankara (Mr P): Sri Lanka Co-ordinator
Prior to working with Outreach International Mr P coordinated a tsunami relief project. He began
working for us in 2006.
Paulina Ratti: Galapagos Co-ordinator
Paulina has lived in San Cristobal on the Galapagos all her life. She plays a key role in attending
to the welfare of volunteers based on the island.
Rity Chandara (Dara): Cambodia Co-ordinator
In his late-twenties Dara has been know to Outreach International for a number of years. His father runs an NGO
and Dara has been working with him for a number of years. Dara is very well connected and lives with his family just
around the corner from the Outreach International volunteer house.
Mr Bir Bahadur B.K: Nepal Co-ordinator
Our coordinator in Nepal is Mr Bir Bahadur B.K, otherwise known as Kamal. He is aged 31 and lives
with his wife and two children. He is also the director of one of our orphanage projects in Kathmandu.
Mr Kong
Mr Kong is the designated tuk tuk driver for Outreach International in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He has been driving
our volunteers around for a number of years. He is a friend of Dara's and knows all of our project locations and is
used to helping our volunteers. An English speaking tuk tuk driver is a great asset to our team.
Beatrice Waweru
Beatrice Waweru is a mother of three. Before becoming the Outreach International coordinator she worked as a
librarian for both the British Council and the Braeburn International School. She lives close to the projects
in Nairobi and her family have a home in Watamu where our coastal projects are based.

Outreach International need volunteers to work abroad in schools,
hospitals, orphanages, with the disabled, animals and animal rescue, wildlife, physiotherapy, medical projects, sports and on humanitarian and conservation projects in South America, Central America, Africa and Asia, including Ecuador, Mexico,
Costa Rica, Cambodia, Nepal, the Galapagos Islands, Kenya and Sri Lanka. We're always looking for Gap Year students or anyone who wants to take a career break, Summer holiday, Easter or Christmas vacation break or a few months or a year out volunteering
overseas.
