This NGO works to overcome poverty and injustice in Cambodia and experienced volunteers are
needed for fundraising and communication initiatives. This humanitarian development project provides field work
experience and a unique opportunity to live and work in the culturally rich country of Cambodia.
Description of Project
This project is with an international grassroots organization working to bring people together to overcome
poverty, injustice and inequity in Cambodia. It is implementing a variety of community development, child
protection and education, and community legal awareness initiatives all aimed at empowering and building the
capacity of local communities. We need a volunteer to assist the organization with critical fundraising and
communication initiatives. Responsibilities will range from creating an international fundraising campaign to
editing and updating website content, donor reports, newsletters and press releases. The position is based in
Phnom Penh, Cambodia with occasional travel to partner offices and our community development project in Kep
province.
Essential Requirements
At least 2-3 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: marketing, public
relations, journalism, fundraising.
Experience at writing proposals and professional reports.
Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Ability to work independently and with limited direction.
Good facilitation and communication skills.
Commitment to humanitarian causes.
Ability to work under pressure and after-hours.

Overall Responsibilities
Create and implement an awareness campaign designed to raise critical funds.
Research available private, public and government grants and draft proposals as required.
Liaise with partner organizations to outline clear objectives and outputs for program initiatives.
Work with the management team to ensure web content is updated regularly.
Work with Development Manager to produce monthly, quarterly and annual newsletters.
Draft monthly news articles.
Edit and write reports and proposals as required.
Assist local staff with written reports and editing documents.
