Every thing is going well here. Little overwhelmed by the project to begin with, there are so so many challenges that I would never come across at a school for disabilities at home, I have to put that all aside, and do what good I can.
I’ve been asked to write reports for as many of the children as I can, with the view of them implementing as many of my recommendations as is realistic. Which is good, as the staff do not have formal training, so they are pretty keen to get some input on how to best help each child. The language barrier makes writing a good report very difficult, but I’m working my way through it.
The children spend at least two hours each afternoon where they don’t have any stimulation, so I spend my afternoons giving them productive things to do, reading with them, doing fine motor activities such as blocks/ jenga/ Lego etc, and I’m about to go print off a host of colouring in/ activities for them to do.
So that’s pretty much it, it’s not easy, but every things going as well as it could be. I’m just trying to take it as it comes and take the challenges in my stride.
